We visited here after watching the total solar eclipse in Cardinal, ON on Apr. 8, 2024 between 4 pm and 5 pm (I guess). Happy with my first time. Surprisingly good food. We ordered calamari (one of my fave appetizers), club sandwich, burger, margarita, and beer. I was happy coz there was an option for my margarita -- either slush or ice. Calamari was tasty and crunchy; dipping sauce was perfect for the calamari. I like the good balance of the saltiness of the calamari. The club sandwich was tasty too. Burger was superb too (accdg to my fiance). Also, thanks to the crew who provided us good service. We sat at the bar and she was nice and friendly. Overall, I am happy with the visit. Will try to come back to Hard Stones, this time in Nepean. P.S. I was so hungry and forgot to take photos before munching in. Forgot to take photo of the beer and steak burger. Oops!
Had an excellent club sandwich, my wife had an amazing burger, our waitress was so nice. Highly recommend the restaurant for a good meal at a reasonable price.
This was an amazing restaurant. We were served by Jason, whose level of service was top 5 in my life. All around amazing service. We were 7 and he was on and didn't miss anything. Food was terrific. Everything was fresh and well balanced. Flavors and presentation were on point. Will definitely be back.
We frequent here for breakfast, lunches and dinners. We are always pleased with the service and food, at times (not often) there are minor errors like an over cooked egg as an example. They always rectify it no problem. Monday's kids eat free per adult, this is a great bonus as not many places offer this type of deal anymore. We have a hard time finding a good consistent place in Kemptville for meals, but find hardstones our frequent go to since we always have a good experience there.
Recently new to Kemptville Really happy I came to get out. Phil, was my bartender and server. super nice and friendly guy. Makes a great Caesar and we had philosophical discussions about the soft drinks. Had the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich and it was fantastic. Definitely will be back and do recommend.
Wide variety on menu. Some wait time is well worth it for delicious fresh food. Home made turkey, veg & rice soup very tasty. Service is great and always with a smile! Can't wait to dine there again.
We aren't local to Kemptville but now I wish we were. We drove 5 hours to enjoy time with family and were amazed at the quality and attention to detail the chef demonstrated with each and every dish. That was on our first visit. We returned a few months later, the meals and service once again were outstanding! Even though the restaurant was completely booked, our servers seem to know what we wanted and when. Besides being efficient, they were all courteous and polite! And just so I didn't think it was just me, I queried other friendly patrons; I received the same reviews. Our only suggestion would be to open another restaurant in the Burlington, ON area. We'd probably be there every second day, ha.
Very nice decor. Good food. Very pleasant service. I don't know why the one in Nepean closed, but this place was a nice drive to from Ottawa.
